I went to Dublin a couple of weeks ago and whilst there had my nails done at a lovely little nail bar in the town centre for a family wedding. I chose a black base with flecks of gold because I wanted something that was a bit edgy and would go with the black dress I was wearing on the day.
The black base was called “Licorice” by Essie and the top coat was a special edition James Bond themed polish called “The Man with the Golden Gun” containing flecks of real 18k gold by OPI.
I really liked these varnishes – the gold went on easily and didn’t smudge the black base coat, which also dried very quickly. Neither chipped at all in the first couple of days (trust me, if anyone is going to chip these, I will!) despite not really being careful, and the whole lot lasted for two weeks before I removed it. In all the time I had it on, one of my fingernails didn’t chip at all. Not bad, huh? They certainly seem to be made to withstand heavy usage.
I really liked the look and would highly recommend each of these products.
